The Chechen authorities connected the sons of Judge Yangulbaev and Musaev with the opposition telegram channel 1ADAT. The Yangulbaevs previously said that in 2015 they were brought to the residence of Ramzan Kadyrov in Grozny and tortured. context-cite__image» alt=»1″ />«Tear off your heads, work on you, kill you.» The head of Chechnya and a State Duma deputy again threaten the family of a retired judge
On January 20, 2022, Chechen policemen took 52-year-old Musaeva with diabetes from Nizhny Novgorod under the pretext of interrogation, without taking insulin with them on the road. On the evening of January 21, Judge of the Leninsky District Court of Grozny Akhmed Bashuev arrested her for 15 days under the article on petty hooliganism (Part 1 of Article 20.1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses). She recalled that she was unconscious during the meeting.
On February 1, Musaeva was transferred from a special detention center to a pre-trial detention center as part of a criminal case on assault on a policeman (Part 1 of Article 318 of the Criminal Code). The head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, claimed that the woman «attacked a police officer and almost took his eye.»
When Musaeva was in a special detention center under administrative arrest in January, lawyers were not allowed to see her. The defenders visited her already in the pre-trial detention center in February; according to them, the woman experiences «strong weakness», it is «hard for her to walk.» Retired judge Yangulbaev left the country with his children after the detention of his wife and threats from Kadyrov and Chechen security forces.
