There is no information yet that the booster «Astra-Zeneca» and «Koronovak» works.
Dr. Komarovsky told what vaccines are best for a booster shot against coronavirus, reports the Chronicle.info with reference to RBC-Ukraine.
&# 171;Today I have seen only one publication regarding the «Novovax» published in December 2021 confirmed data that their booster works even against the strain Omicron & # 187;, & # 8212; said the doctor.
The doctor noted that there is no data yet that the booster «Astra-Zeneca» and «Koronovak» works.
«For other subunit and vector vaccines, that is «Koronovak» and «Astra-Zeneca» — there is no evidence that their booster actually works. It may work, but there is no conclusive data yet», — Komarovsky added.
Komarovsky's recommendations
The doctor advised using only the following two vaccines as a booster.
«Therefore, as a doctor, I can recommend only mRNA vaccines as a booster, then there is «Pfizer» and «Modern». Because it is with regard to these vaccines that there is clear evidence that after their booster dose, the reliability of protection against coronavirus infection increases significantly. Moreover, they also work against the symptomatic form, and against resuscitation, and against the Omicron strain», — the expert summarized.
Note that in Ukraine, booster doses are made with just these two vaccines.
