The German Chancellor reiterated that the issue of Ukraine's accession to NATO is not being considered.
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said that the issue of Ukraine's membership in NATO is not on the agenda, reports the Chronicle.info with reference to the New edition.
He said this on Saturday, February 19, during a speech at the Munich Conference.
The politician noted that in the foreseeable future Ukraine will not become a member of NATO.
Also, Scholz made a statement about the expansion of the European Union. The Chancellor called for accelerating the accession to the EU of the Balkan countries — Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia, Macedonia and Albania. At the same time, the German politician did not mention the prospects for Ukraine's accession to the EU.
Earlier, Scholz, during a joint press conference with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow, said that NATO expansion is not planned and not discussed.
