BEJING, Feb 20 freestyle start at the Beijing Olympics. Yohaug ran the 30 km distance in 1 hour 24 minutes 54 seconds. Second place went to American Jessica Diggins (+1 minute 43.3 seconds), Finnish Kerttu Niskanen (+2.33.3) rounded out the top three. Tatyana Sorina (+2.37.2) became the best of the Russians, finishing fifth. Maria Istomina (+3.06.1) finished ninth, Anastasia Rygalina (+6.28.1) finished 17th. Natalya Nepryaeva retired during the mass start. Johaug became a four-time Olympic champion. Earlier at the Beijing Games, she won the skiathlon and the classic time trial. Also on her account is the gold of the Games in Vancouver in the relay. At the Sochi Games, she won silver in the mass start and bronze in the individual race.
