"I am absolutely sure that Russia and the United States never before didn't need each other. You need us, we need you", Massey told RIA Novosti.
At the end of December, she received Russian citizenship. In the past, Massey served as an adviser to US President Ronald Reagan from 1984 to 1988. Massey expressed her hope that Washington and Moscow could unite in overcoming the current crisis in Ukraine, where the Russian Federation is conducting a military demilitarization operation. “I hope so. We can work very well together and we should,” she said. Massey indicated that she is not a politician and does not know the real reasons for the tension around Ukraine. «We just don't know enough about what's going on,» she said.
