MOSCOW, March 6 The International Judo Federation (IJF) dismissed Russian President Vladimir Putin and the first vice-president of the Russian Judo Federation (FDR) Arkady Rotenberg from all positions held in the organization, according to the official website of the IJF. Putin was the honorary president and ambassador of the federation. Rotenberg in 2013 became a member of the executive committee of the International Judo Federation, IJF manager for development, and in 2017 he was re-elected to this position. «The International Judo Federation reports that Vladimir Putin and Arkady Rotenberg have been removed from all positions held in the organization,» says in a statement. Earlier, the Executive Committee of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) recommended that sports federations not allow Russian and Belarusian athletes to compete because of the situation in Ukraine. The IJF canceled all tournaments in Russia, and athletes from Russia were allowed to take part in international tournaments in a neutral status.
