The statement also says that the Singapore government called Russia «to cease hostilities and respect the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of Ukraine.» The newspaper also reports that the Singapore police are taking additional measures to protect public order in the city-state in connection with the likelihood of unauthorized street actions. «The police would like to remind the public that organizing or participating in a public assembly without police permission in Singapore is illegal and constitutes an offense under the Public Order Act 2009,» a spokesman for the Singapore Ministry of the Interior told the newspaper.
Singapore will impose export controls on Russia, he said that foreigners temporarily staying or residing in Singapore are required to comply with local laws, the publication reports. «Violations of the law will be dealt with harshly, and this may include the revocation of a visa or work permit.
