Earlier, signals about an explosive devices on board the plane from Belgrade to Moscow were received by e-mail from the territory of Ukraine, on March 16, unknown people from Poland also reported about the «mining» of the board, which was going to St. Petersburg. Some aircraft returned to the Nikola Tesla airport, while others underwent anti-sabotage screening before departure. The Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that all the signals turned out to be false.
"I already have these planes in my liver. What will we do if every time we are forced to return the plane from Subotica to Belgrade. Foreign intelligence agencies send false alarms about explosive devices,” Vučić said.
A Serbian airline reported on March 9 that due to restrictions on Visa and Mastercard bank cards in Russia, tickets can be purchased from a partner company in Moscow, and also that flights to Moscow and St. Petersburg are taking longer due to rerouting. There have been several media reports about the carrier's refusal to fly to Russia. On March 12, Vučić said that the country was under external pressure due to active air traffic with Russia and would be forced to reduce the number of flights from two to one per day.
