MOSCOW, March 21 Russian Elena, who won the 2012 Olympics race walking gold Lashmanova has been suspended for two years for an anti-doping rule violation and will be stripped of her medal, according to the website of the independent athletics body (AIU). Lashmanova is charged with the use of a «prohibited substance and (or) method.» The two-year suspension is counted from March 9, 2021. The results of the athlete, shown in the period from February 18, 2012 to January 3, 2014, were canceled. She will lose the gold medals she won in the women's 20 km race walk at the 2012 London Olympics and the 2013 World Championships in Athletics in Moscow. It is also reported that the Russian woman accepted AIU sanctions.
From February 26, 2014 to 2016, Lashmanova was already serving a two-year ban for doping. A positive sample was taken from an athlete on January 4, 2014 in Saransk as part of out-of-competition control.
