In Taganrog, police detained freelance journalist Polina Efimova when she arrived at the city sports palace, a temporary accommodation center for refugees from Mariupol. This was told to Novaya Gazeta by colleagues of the correspondent.
According to them, Efimova found refugees in one of the buses next to the sports palace. While talking to the Ukrainians, the police approached the journalist and demanded that she show her press card. Since the correspondent is not on the staff of the publication, she was unable to present the document.
As Novaya Gazeta notes, in order to get to temporary accommodation centers, you must obtain permission from the situational center for Ukrainian refugees.
