Poland received 2.3 million refugees from Ukraine in a month.
Poland is ready to accept as many Ukrainian refugees as needed. There are still opportunities for this in the country, so preparations are underway for new waves, reports the Chronicle.info with reference to RBC-Ukraine.
This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister Petr Glinsky.
< p>«We have the capacity and we are still ready to accept more refugees», — he said.
According to him, Poland received 2.3 million refugees from Ukraine in a month, but today the flow has decreased. At the same time, in his opinion, it is important to separate humanitarian aid and assistance to Ukraine in the war against Russia.
«This is a very sensitive issue from the point of view of Ukraine, because they are still defending their independence» , — he stressed.
He also explained the difference in approaches to the reception of Ukrainian and Syrian refugees by the fact that before the war about 1.5 million Ukrainians already lived and worked in Poland, and also by the fact that there are deep cultural relations between the countries connections.
«The Ukrainian approach to our values is also changing… they are trying to be more European. This is the result of the war», — Glinsky added.
