The Ambassador of Ukraine to Germany said that the head of the German Ministry of Finance with a «polite smile» claimed the failure of the APU. The official called the result «a matter long since decided».
German Finance Minister Christian Lindner said after the Russian attack that Ukraine «just a few hours»remained», reports Chronicle.info with reference to Focus.
Ambassador of Ukraine to Germany Andriy Melnyk told about this to the German edition of the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung.
Lindner because of such rhetoric, according to the Ukrainian diplomat, opposed the supply of weapons to Kiev and Russia's disconnection from the international payment system SWIFT.
Melnik says that the German minister was sitting next to him with a «polite smile» and spoke as if the defeat of Ukraine in the war was «a matter long since decided».
«You only have a few hours», Lindner told him.
The German finance minister wanted to talk about Ukraine with the puppet government of the occupiers, the ambassador continued and called the conversation with the official «the worst in my life».
«I had a feeling that he looks more at balance than at our suffering. Maybe he should have done that as finance minister. For me it was a knockout and I ended the conversation. I don’t cry often, but after talking with Christian Lindner, tears just flowed down my face», Melnik admitted.
