The World Championship will take place from 21 November to 18 December. The tournament will open with a match between Qatar and Ecuador. The current world football champion is the French team, which won the tournament in Russia. The Russian team will not play in the tournament. At the end of February, FIFA and UEFA suspended Russian teams and clubs from participation in international competitions for an indefinite period due to the situation in Ukraine.
