In December 2021, the court fined Meta 1.9 billion rubles, finding it guilty of repeatedly refusing to remove prohibited information at the request of the Russian authorities (part 5 of article 13.41 of the Code of Administrative Offenses). Later, Roskomnadzor filed another protocol against the organization under this article due to insults against the Russian authorities, which the company did not remove.
On March 21, the Tver Court of Moscow recognized Meta as an «extremist organization» and banned its activities in Russia.
