Finnish customs confirmed the April 2-4 delay of three vehicles carrying EU-sanctioned goods for Russia, without specifying whether they were paintings. The exhibits going through customs at the Finnish border were part of two exhibitions in Italy. The first exhibition — «Grand Tour. Myth, vision and feeling of Italy» was held in Milan, Piazza Scala Gallery and ended on March 27, 2022. The exposition included items from the State Hermitage, as well as the museum-reserves «Tsarskoe Selo» and «Pavlovsk» and «Gatchina». The second exhibition, «Form of Infinity», was held at the Museum of Modern Art in Udine from October 16, 2021 to March 23, 2022. The exposition included works from the State Tretyakov Gallery and the State Museum of Oriental Art. In addition, according to the ministry, the exhibits undergoing customs checks include works of art by the Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts, which arrived from Japan, where they were exhibited in the Chiba City Museum.
