MOSCOW, Apr 12 Europol announced the launch of Operation Oscar to help EU countries in the discovery of Russian assets subject to EU sanctions. This is stated in a release on the agency's website.

As follows from the text of the document, the operation is also aimed at supporting criminal investigations conducted by European countries in connection with the circumvention of trade and economic sanctions imposed by the EU after Russia's special operation in Ukraine. The main task of Europol is to help in the exchange of information and intelligence between partners. One of the functions of this agency is also the analysis of the information received to identify international connections, criminal groups and suspects.
