Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) continues to investigate the results of the semi-final match of the 2022 European Futsal Championship between the national teams of Russia and Ukraine, the UEFA press service said. During the match on February 4, Ukrainian fans chanted insulting statements that were political in nature and incited hatred based on nationality. Subsequently, the Russian Football Union (RFU) sent an appeal to UEFA, demanding that the organization initiate a disciplinary investigation into this matter. On February 8, UEFA appointed an inspector to assess the situation. «The investigation is still ongoing. The date for a decision on this case has not yet been determined,» UEFA said. The meeting ended with a score of 3:2 in favor of the Russian team. In the final, the Russians lost to the Portuguese with a score of 2:4 and won the silver medals of the European Championship. The national team of Ukraine in the match for the third place lost to the team of Spain — 1:4.
