The Ukrainian side limits the number of points where cars imported for personal use can be cleared for free< /p>
From 00.00 on April 25, 2022, restrictions on the import of cars from Europe begin to operate in Ukraine. Now it will be possible to clear a car free of charge for one's own needs only at six checkpoints, reports the Chronicle.info with reference to Focus.
The reason for this decision is that after the entry into force of the law abolishing During martial law in Ukraine, the payment of VAT and import duties on cars, giant queues lined up at the borders with the EU.
And volunteers with humanitarian supplies — equipment for fighters, food and medicines — stand idle for days in them.
Deputy Minister of Infrastructure Mustafa Nayem announced this on his Telegram channel. And he added that EU legislation does not allow separate lanes for the passage of volunteers with humanitarian cargo.
To make their task easier, the Ukrainian side limits the number of points where cars imported for personal use can be cleared for free.
Checkpoints at which there is a zero duty for customs clearance of cars for their own needs:- At the Polish border: «Ugrinov», «Grushev», « Smolnica», «Ustilug»;
- On the Slovak border: «M. Berezny»;
- On the Hungarian border: «Dovinnoe», «Kosino».
In addition, the Deputy Minister noted that partners in Poland, Slovakia and Romania are a little surprised by such an active renewal of the fleet of the warring country, for which the whole world is raising funds for humanitarian aid.
And they are shocked by the industrial scale of imports «for the needs of ZSU» ; «luxury» cars. For example, only in the first 8 days after the abolition of customs duties, 14,300 (!) Passenger cars were imported into Ukraine. Among them are the BMW X5, Mercedes-Benz S-Class, Audi Q7 of 2022 and even the Cadillac Escalade for UAH 3.1 million.
So, in the near future, the Cabinet of Ministers will be proposed appropriate changes to the regulatory framework to remedy this situation without harming the real volunteers.
