The artificial gravity station will be the first of two planned commercial stations in orbit.
The American company Orbital Assembly announced plans to build a space station in Earth orbit for scientific research and a hotel for tourists by 2025, reports the Chronicle.info with reference to the Correspondent.
According to project, there will be 28 space tourists who will live in five modules with a diameter of 61 meters, placed around a ring that, by its rotation, will create artificial gravity.
The Pioneer station will be the first of two commercial stations planned for construction on orbit. The second will be able to accommodate 400 space tourists.
«Our station — it is a safe and reliable modular design that will begin to generate revenue earlier than the stations of our competitors contracted by NASA», — said Orbital Assembly Executive Director Rhonda Stevenson.
These stations should be built by 2030 and will replace the ISS, which will be decommissioned in 2030. As you know, they plan to flood it in the waters of the Pacific Ocean.
