The song is in English and Ukrainian.
Ed Sheeran and Band «Antibodies» present a common song — a remake of the track 2Step from the latest album of the British artist, in which Taras Topolya sings in Ukrainian. During the war, the musicians managed to release a video clip highlighting impressive wartime footage and the touching personal story of Taras Topoli.
Great Britain and its people constantly support Ukraine. It was the British singer Ed Sheeran who initiated such a collaboration and once again showed true friendship and support. Millions of people show by their actions that they are defending their principles, democracy and freedom. This common song between Ed and Antibodies is very symbolic.
It turned out to be quite difficult to write and record Ukrainian words in Ed's song in the circumstances in which we were. Also, Bobina Records, where we used to record our songs, was under the occupation of Russian bastards. But thanks to Maxim Sivolap, our friend and constant co-author and arranger of many songs, we coped with our part,
— shared Taras Topolya.
In the Ukrainian lyrics of the song 2Step («Two steps» 😉 soloist «Antibodies» shared a personal story — told how the war began for his family. It seems that millions of Ukrainians survived, who, breaking into the territory of our country, were separated by the Russian army.
Filming took place in Irpen, Kyiv, and also in the Kharkiv region, where the musicians of the group & # 171; Antitila & # 187; arrived as part of the 130th territorial defense battalion to reinforce the eastern grouping of the ground forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The idea of the clip belongs to Taras Topola.
The team dedicated the video to the memory of Ukrainian director Dmitry Manifest, who died at a young age. The video was directed and produced by his friend Dmitry Shmurak. He and his team in an incredibly short time, professionally and flawlessly implemented all their plans, realizing that the group «Antibodies» will not be able to fully join the shooting.
«There are people who are ready to go with you into fire and into water. It was thanks to our friendship with the Manifesto that it became clear to me that there was no point in doing something with half strength. Life is very embarrassing and therefore, when «Antibodies» they asked me to support and actually produce and shoot a video clip on my own, I immediately agreed, although I understood that this was a very difficult task. The team and I tried to do everything possible to make the work a success. If Dima were alive, he would definitely be with us on the set site. Only one thing — come back alive! & # 187;, — said Dmitry Shmurak.
