MOSCOW, May 7. A consortium led by American billionaire Todd Bowley signed the first contract to acquire London football club Chelsea, according to The Telegraph. The deal was previously reported to be worth nearly $5 billion (£4 billion). Now the deal must be approved by the UK government, as well as the leadership of the English Premier League. Bowley, who owns a stake in the Los Angeles Dodgers baseball club and the Los Angeles Lakers basketball club, made an offer to buy Chelsea on March 9.
