The leadership of the South Bohemian city of Ceske Budějovice decided on Monday to deprive the status of an honorary citizen of the city of the USSR pilot-cosmonaut Valentina Tereshkova in connection with her support for the Russian special operation in Ukraine, the online publication Idnes reported .» The first female cosmonaut Valentina Tereshkova, who in 1979 was awarded the status of an honorary citizen of the city of Ceske Budejovice, is no longer such. The municipal authorities of the city deprived Tereshkova of this honorary status due to the fact that she, as a State Duma deputy, actively supported the military actions of Russia in Ukraine. 32 out of 45 members of the municipality voted for this decision, six were against, the rest abstained, «the report says.
