The Armenian opposition is holding an evening procession through the streets of Yerevan, a RIA Novosti correspondent reports. Hundreds of people take part in the march. They sing patriotic songs and chant opposition slogans. The procession is accompanied by dozens of police officers and about ten patrol cars. They do not interfere with the protesters in any way, they only free the roadway from transport for their march. On Tuesday afternoon, during the marches, police officers detained more than 60 opposition supporters. The detentions began after the protesters began blocking the intersections. Some marchers tried to fight off their like-minded people, but the police did not allow them to do this. Since April 25, the opposition has been holding protests throughout Armenia. The protesters are convinced that the policy of the authorities threatens the country with the loss of statehood.
