Moscow is ready to receive the head of the Palestinian movement Hamas Ismail Haniya, the date of the visit is being worked out, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov told RIA Novosti on the sidelines of the Russia-Islamic World: KazanSummit 2022 summit.
"I can't confirm, no dates agreed. In principle, this was discussed when Musa Abu Marzuk was here. We are ready to receive the delegation, but the time has not yet been agreed upon", — said the source of the agency.
Earlier, the media reported that Haniya would visit Moscow next month. In early May, Bogdanov held a meeting in the Russian diplomatic mission with a Hamas delegation, following which he told RIA Novosti that Moscow was ready to offer its site as a venue for an inter-Palestinian meeting. He added that Russia also expects visits from the leaders of the Fatah movement and the Palestine Liberation Organization.
