President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Thomas Bach urged to wait on the issue of setting the date for the award ceremony for the winners of the team figure skating tournament at the Beijing Olympics. The Russian figure skating team, which included Kamila Valieva, won gold medals in the team tournament of the Olympics, but the award ceremony was not held. It became known that Valieva’s doping test on December 25, 2021 turned out to be positive. «We are in contact with WADA and ITA on this issue. The case is under the control of the anti-doping services, the IOC has nothing to do with this. But we made it clear to them that we are waiting for the soon resolution of this case. As soon as this happens, we will hold an awards ceremony. There is no need to guess when it will happen, you just have to wait to see how the situation will develop,» Thomas Bach replied at a press conference. On Friday, the final, third meeting was held in Lausanne 139th session of the IOC. The first two took place on February 3 and 19 in Beijing.
