Parliamentary elections in Armenia in 2021 answered all the questions raised by participants in the protest movement in the republic, there are no prerequisites for predicting various scenarios, including those related to holding new elections, RIA said News Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan. «Absolutely democratic, free and legal parliamentary elections in Armenia in June 2021 provided answers to all those questions that are now being raised by the minority protest movement,» he said, answering the question whether the authorities will hold early elections. Early parliamentary elections were held in Armenia on June 20, 2021, 21 parties and four blocs took part in them. Party «Civil Contract» and. about. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, according to the final data of the CEC, won with 53.91%, the «Armenia» bloc of ex-president Robert Kocharyan gained 21.9%, the «I have the Honor» bloc of Serzh Sargsyan was supported by 5.22%. And although the latter did not get the required 7% of the votes, according to the law, it entered the parliament, since the presence of at least three political forces is mandatory in the legislative body. Pashinyan's party received 71 mandates in the new parliament, the Kocharyan and Sargsyan blocs — 29 and seven, respectively. Since April 25, the opposition has been holding protests throughout Armenia demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Pashinyan. Their participants are convinced that the policy of the authorities threatens the country with the loss of statehood and threatens the existence of the unrecognized Nagorno-Karabakh Republic.
