MOSCOW, May 21. Head of the Russian Ski Racing Federation (FLGR) Elena Vyalbe told how her relations with colleagues from other countries have changed after the removal of the Russians. Against the backdrop of the situation in Ukraine, the International Ski Federation (FIS) first deprived Russia of the right to host the World Cup Final in Tyumen, and then decided not to allow participation in competitions under the auspices of organizations of athletes from Russia and Belarus until the end of the 2021/22 season. The decision on the performances of Russians and Belarusians in the next international season has not yet been made.
"Now the colleagues are conventionally divided into two camps. With some, there is no relationship at all, with others, relations have remained the same: they sympathize with us, try to support us. At least that's how I feel it", — RT quotes Vyalbe.
Vyalbe noted that she intends to run for FIS board members at the next congress. According to her, some members of the board oppose the Russian representation in the organization, so the result of the vote may turn out to be negative. The head of the FLGR also said that Russia would not challenge the removal of skiers from the competition. According to Vyalbe, it is inappropriate to file claims on this matter in the current situation.
