Archival photoRUBEZHNOE (LPR), May 23.Despite the liberation of Rubizhne from the Ukrainian security forces and its transfer to the control of the People's Militia of the Lugansk People's Republic, life in the city is still far from normal: there is no water, electricity, and a centralized supply of food, and food from humanitarian aid has to be cooked on fires, a RIA Novosti correspondent reports. .Now there is not a single building in the city with intact windows — all of them were knocked out from constant shelling. There are many buildings with more serious damage — with collapsed entrances and traces of fires on all nine floors. The journalist found the sister of a veteran of the Great Patriotic War in Rubezhnoye «We still do not have light and water,» a resident of one of the houses on Kirov Avenue, which in recent years has been renamed Pobediteley Avenue, told a RIA Novosti correspondent. on fires — men from the house go for firewood, which they then cut right at the entrances. Water is taken from a nearby cafe, which has its own well: a generator is brought here every other day, which allows pumping water for the entire area. It is more difficult to get food — shops in the city do not work, sometimes only mobile shops with enterprising sellers arrive here. At the same time, the majority of the population does not have cash: all the savings remained on Ukrainian cards, which are now very difficult to withdraw money from. «All hope is for humanitarian assistance, but it is also difficult to get it,» local residents say. From Lugansk, aid is brought to several large points in Rubizhne, located in educational institutions and administrative buildings. The first to receive it are the inhabitants of local bomb shelters. All the rest come to the «hat analysis», and they also have to go for help through the whole city. Sometimes these campaigns, which also end in vain, have to be carried out under shells — the Ukrainian military from the neighboring Severodonetsk and Lysichansk still continue shelling Rubizhne. Russia launched a military operation in Ukraine on February 24th. President Vladimir Putin called its goal «the protection of people who have been subjected to bullying and genocide by the Kyiv regime for eight years.» For this, according to him, it is planned to carry out «demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine», to bring to justice all war criminals responsible for «bloody crimes against civilians» in Donbass. According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, the Armed Forces strike only at military infrastructure and Ukrainian troops and , on March 25, completed the main tasks of the first stage — significantly reduced the combat potential of Ukraine. The main goal in the Russian military department was called the liberation of Donbass.
