Refugees. File photo MOSCOW, May 31. The British authorities intend to deport the first migrants to Rwanda on June 14, the Independent newspaper writes, citing the Ministry of the Interior. On April 13, the UK and Rwanda signed a migration agreement under which persons recognized by the British government as illegal migrants or asylum seekers will be deported to Rwanda for paperwork, asylum and relocation.

According to the newspaper, the British Home Office informed dozens of people in early May that they could be expelled from the country. They have now been sent notifications that they have confirmed seats on a flight to Rwanda. However, as the publication notes, despite receiving such notifications, the decision to deport to Rwanda can still be challenged in court.
