File photoWASHINGTON, Jun 1The United States will continue to supply military equipment to Ukraine, adapting such «aid» depending on the situation, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said on Wednesday. «Our task is to ensure that Ukraine has the means it needs to defend itself against this aggression (by the Russian Federation — ed.), to repel it — but also to ensure that its positions are as strong as possible in any possible negotiations with Russia,» Blinken said at a joint press conference with the General NATO Secretary Jens Stoltenberg in Washington. The head of American diplomacy added that the United States regularly adapted its military assistance to Kyiv, analyzing the needs of the Ukrainian army at each specific stage. «And we intend to continue to do so in the future,» Blinken stressed. As a senior White House official told reporters earlier, on Wednesday the United States will announce the allocation of a new, 11th military aid package to Ukraine worth about $700 million. It, among other things, will include modern missile systems with a range of up to 80 kilometers.
