In response to reports of failures in the operation of Proton VPN, Roskomnadzor confirmed that it was blocking services in Russia to bypass blocking. This was reported by Interfax with reference to the press service of the department.
“The Public Communications Network Monitoring and Control Center is taking measures to limit the operation of VPN services in Russia that violate Russian law,” the press service said. The department recalled that according to the law “On Communications”, means to bypass blocking are “recognized as a threat.”
