
MOSCOW, June 4 The Armenian national football team defeated the Irish team in a home match the first round of the League of Nations. The meeting of group 1 of league B, which took place in Yerevan, ended with a score of 1:0 in favor of the home team. The only goal scored by Krasnodar midfielder Eduard Spertsyan (74th minute). Ukraine and Scotland also play in this quartet. In the next round on June 8, the Scottish team will receive players from Armenia, and the Irish will play against the Ukrainians on their field. The Russian team was excluded from the list of the Nations League participants after the decision of the UEFA Executive Committee, which suspended all Russian national and club teams from competitions under its auspices in May until end of the 2022/23 season. In connection with this decision, the Russian national team will leave Division B of the League of Nations and drop down to League C.
