"Food and essentials have been delivered to the settlements. First of all, the necessary assistance from Russia is provided to families with children, as well as the elderly and the disabled. During the distribution of humanitarian aid, the military personnel of the Western Military District made door-to-door tours of veterans of the Great Patriotic War and presented them with gifts and food packages,» the ministry said.
Local residents thanked the Russian military personnel. Humanitarian aid comes to residents of the region from all over Russia — it is collected by large organizations, schoolchildren, pensioners' clubs, small public organizations. As the Ministry of Defense added, the liberated settlements of the Kharkiv region are gradually improving their life: during the shelling, humanitarian aid is distributed to basements and shelters, volunteers help. Since February 24, Russia has been conducting a special operation to denazify and demilitarize Ukraine. Putin called its goal «the protection of people who have been subjected to bullying and genocide by the Kyiv regime for eight years.» According to the Ministry of Defense, Russian troops have already completed the main tasks of the first stage — they significantly reduced the combat potential of Ukraine. The main goal in the department was the liberation of Donbass.
