The BRICS and G20 countries are interested in cooperating with Russia in the Arctic, taking into account the transport opportunities available in the region, Nikolai Korchunov, Ambassador-at-Large of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Chairman of the Committee of Senior Officials of the Arctic Council, told RIA Novosti. «We constantly consult with non-regional states on «Arctic issues. Almost all BRICS member countries are showing interest, many G20 countries are showing interest in cooperation with Russia in various areas. This is understandable, since the Arctic is becoming a factor in global politics due to the climate, opening up transport opportunities,» he said at the the fields of the SPIEF. The Jubilee XXV St. Petersburg International Economic Forum will be held in St. Petersburg from 15 to 18 June.
