
MOSCOW, June 16 Sergey Semak from Zenit St. Petersburg football club is recognized the best coach of the last season in the Russian Premier League (RPL), according to the website. Semak received this award for the third time in a row. Zenit became the champion of Russia at the end of the past season. The best coach of the past season was determined by the results of a vote in which the captains and head coaches of the RPL teams, editors-in-chief of the leading sports media, commentators of the main broadcaster of the league and the coach of the Russian national team Nikolai Pisarev took part. Semak scored in voting, the same number of points as Vladimir Fedotov (118 each), but he was ahead of the current CSKA coach due to the fact that Zenit finished above Sochi, Fedotov’s former team, last season. Semak has been coaching Zenit since 2018 and won with St. Petersburg team won four titles of the champion of Russia in a row, and also once won the Cup of the country and twice — the Super Cup.
