MOSCOW, June 25 Cardiologist Anna Korenevich in her Telegram channel spoke about the most useful activity for people who have had a heart attack. According to a specialist, swimming is useful after a heart attack. It is important to take activity carefully — do not overdo it and do not plunge into too cold water.
"The first six months after a heart attack, it is not recommended to plunge into cold water abruptly, this can provoke a spasm of the coronary arteries and even sudden cardiac arrest. This also applies to winter swimming in the ice hole, and ice fonts in baths and saunas. Sudden changes in temperature are dangerous", wrote Korenevich.
For lovers of swimming in cold water, the cardiologist recommended hardening. You need to start with a gradual immersion in the pond and listen to your feelings.
"Today you immerse your feet, tomorrow — up to the knee, the day after tomorrow the hips, then the body and finally the head. If there is no discomfort in the chest, you can move on. If something is annoying, then you need to stop being in cold water", she said.
The specialist added that bathing is allowed subject to all the recommendations of the cardiologist, good health, normal pressure and pulse. Korenevich also noted that after a heart attack, it is not recommended to take sunbaths between 11 and 18 hours. The specialist noted that for healthy people it is better to spend this time in the shade to avoid sunburn and dehydration due to overheating.
