Representatives of large, small and medium-sized Ukrainian businesses appealed to President Volodymyr Zelensky with a request to remove Daniil Getmantsev, chairman of the parliamentary committee, from his post. was recently appointed Secretary of the National Recovery Council.
This is reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to a letter signed by heads of enterprises, including — «Nova Poshta», «Smart Holding», «Ukrtrans», and a number of business unions.
«Daniel Getmantsev is the personification of a regressive, populist socialist approach, a consistent opponent of economic freedom, a supporter of stricter state regulation and the suppression of entrepreneurial initiative, which makes our activity impossible», — entrepreneurs said.
They recalled that recent statements by Getmantsev about raising taxes have already led many entrepreneurs to abandon investment projects in Ukraine and transfer them to European countries.
«Mr. Getmantseva is an active supporter of Marxist, socialist ideas and the Soviet way of life, an opponent of the market economy and the rights and freedoms associated with it. The actions of Mr. Getmantsev as Chairman of the Committee cause devastating damage to both the economy of Ukraine and its reputation»,— entrepreneurs emphasized.
That is why they called on Zelensky to dismiss Getmantsev from his post. Otherwise, business is convinced, Ukraine will not be able to start the process of reviving the economy, which should now be stronger than ever.
«Economic bondage reigns in the country. Objectively, Ukraine occupies 130 — th place in the ranking of economic freedom — which is an illustration of the unattractiveness of the country for doing business. (…) They are trying to convince you of the need to raise taxes, or increase the state's share in the economy. But this is either a deliberate lie or a fatal mistake! Systematic (rather than temporary) tax cuts, deregulation, rapid privatization (except for strategic enterprises), reduction of the state apparatus — this is what will accelerate economic growth. And the state will receive more taxes and the budget will be sufficient to increase social standards», — summed up the entrepreneurs.
