ASHGABAT, June 29 Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived in the capital of Turkmenistan to attend the Caspian Summit . The plane with the Russian leader landed in Ashgabat at 14:00 local time. At the gangway, the President of the Russian Federation was met by Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov. Greeting him, Putin left the airport in an Aurus car. The day before, the head of state in Tajikistan participated in negotiations with the leader of the republic, Emomali Rahmon. In Ashgabat, Putin will take part in the sixth Caspian summit. The Russian side expects that at the end of the summit, the leaders of the participating countries will adopt a communiqué on agreed positions on developing cooperation in the region, Yury Ushakov, aide to the President of the Russian Federation, told reporters earlier. A number of bilateral meetings will be held at Putin's summit site.
