Severomorsk instead of Philadelphia? New details in the case of hockey player Fedotov

Sergei FuchsCorrespondent SportAll materialsThe main sports news in early July is the situation around the goalkeeper of the Russian national hockey team and the club of the National Hockey League (NHL) «Philadelphia» Ivan Fedotov. On Sunday, a number of new details appeared, which, however, did not shed light on what happened to the hockey player and where he is now. Let us briefly recall the essence of the sensational case. On Friday, the media reported that Fedotov was detained in St. Petersburg by members of the military registration and enlistment office. Later it was reported that the hockey player became ill at the military registration and enlistment office, after which he was hospitalized. The source, commenting on what happened, said that the goalkeeper faces up to two years in prison under Art. 328 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation — for evading conscription for military service. On Sunday morning, the athlete's lawyer Alexei Ponomarev said that Fedotov was sent to Severomorsk (Murmansk region) at night. Presumably, this is where the military unit is located, in which the player supposedly has to do military service. However, later Ponomarev clarified that the location of the goalkeeper has not yet been determined. Fedotov himself also does not get in touch. Finding out the details is complicated by the fact that on weekends most bodies and institutions practically do not give feedback, so the lawyer expects to receive answers to all questions on Monday. According to a number of publications, Fedotov was sent to the 1st Naval Clinical Clinical hospital. The correspondent arrived at the institution, at the checkpoint of which he was told that the hockey player was not on the list of patients.
