During the debate in the Leninsky District Court, the state prosecution requested 5 years in a penal colony for the former director of Open Russia, Andrey Pivovarov, in the case of an «undesirable organization» (Article 284.1 of the Criminal Code). This was reported by his colleague Tatyana Usmanova.
Pivovarov was detained at the end of May 2021 at the Pulkovo airstrip when he was about to fly to Warsaw. He was transferred to Krasnodar, where the local court sent the oppositionist to a pre-trial detention center.
30 posts on Pivovarov's Facebook page became the reason for the criminal prosecution. He is also charged with organizing the Free People forum in Nizhny Novgorod and one repost about collecting donations in Krasnodar.
