
MOSCOW, July 14 Russian President Vladimir Putin has appointed Alexei Saltykov as Russia's new ambassador to Kot- d'Ivoire, according to a decree posted on the official Internet portal of legal information. «Appoint Saltykov Alexei Eduardovich Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire,» the document states. The previous ambassador, Vladimir Baikov, was relieved of his duties. In the central office of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Saltykov served as deputy director of the Department of the Situation and Crisis Center of the Russian Foreign Ministry. He also worked in Kenya as an advisor-envoy.
