Former UFC champion Khabib Nurmagomedov on Mike Finch's YouTube channel spoke enthusiastically about the recently announced fight of Brazilian Charles Oliveira against Russian Islam Makhachev for the vacant lightweight belt, which will take place on October 22 at UFC 280. The undefeated athlete, who retired in 2020, compared fight Makhachev — Oliveira with his confrontation against the American Tony Ferguson:
"We have about 90 days before the fight. And as an MMA fan, I want to say: this is the most anticipated fight of 2022. A fighter with eleven consecutive victories against a fighter with ten consecutive triumphs. The UFC has never had such a crazy streak in the UFC… Eleven wins against twelve — it should have happened in my fight with Tony Ferguson, but it didn't happen".
