MOSCOW, Aug 2. Ukrainian boxer Vitaliy Nevesely, who left for Severodonetsk (LPR), urged athletes from his country to treat athletes from Russia with respect and not to make offensive remarks about them. Earlier, the Boxing Federation of Ukraine accused Nevesely of collaborationism and called for criminal prosecution. "We are fraternal peoples. I have many friends in Russia among athletes. And we can never afford such an attitude towards each other", — said the representative of Ukraine on air"Match TV".
In February, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) recommended that international sports federations not allow Russian and Belarusian athletes to participate in competitions due to the situation in Ukraine. A number of international federations excluded Russians and Belarusians from competitions under their auspices, and also canceled the competitions in Russia, other federations allowed athletes in a neutral status.
