MOSCOW, August 8 Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov will lead the Russian delegation to the UN General Assembly, which will open in September, follows from the presidential decree published on the official Internet portal of legal information. «Approve the following composition of the delegation of the Russian Federation to participate in the work of the 77th session of the UN General Assembly: Lavrov S. V. — Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, permanent member of the Security Council of the Russian Federation (head of the delegation),» the document says. There are ten people in the delegation, including Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Vershinin, Chairman of the International Committee of the Federation Council Grigory Karasin, Permanent Representative of Russia to the UN Vasily Nebenzya, leader of the Liberal Democratic Party and head of the Duma Committee on International Affairs Leonid Slutsky. The high-level week of the 77th session of the UN General Assembly will be held from 20 to 26 September. This year it will be held in person, unlike the previous two years, when due to the pandemic, some speeches were pre-recorded on video. The speech of the head of the Russian delegation is expected on September 24.
