MOSCOW, Aug 12 Team USA inflicted a crushing defeat on Team Switzerland in a group match stage of the World Youth Championship (under 20), which takes place in Canada. Group B meeting, held in Edmonton, ended with a score of 7:1 (0:0, 5:1, 2:0). Carter Mazur (26th, 34th minutes) scored a double as part of the winners, Brock Faber (32), Landon Sluggert (38), Matthew Coronato (40), Thomas Bordelot (42) and Riley Durand (56) also scored. Yoel Henry (29) scored the puck for the losing team. The US team leads the Group B standings with six points. The Swiss team is in last place with no points scored. In the next match, the Americans will play with the Austrians on August 13, and the Swiss will meet with the Germans on the same day. In another match, the Canadian team won a crushing victory over the Slovakian team — 11:1 (4:0, 4:1, 3:0).
