The memory of this wonderful athlete, coach and person will remain in our hearts,» the organization said in a statement. Vedenin won gold in the USSR championships in 1963 and 1965. He also became the bronze medalist of the individual-team championship of the USSR (1967) and the Cup of the country (1969). After completing his sports career, he worked as a coach for the USSR national team, a technical specialist, and also coached figure skaters from other countries. In recent years, he was a consultant for the Russian national team.
