MOSCOW, Sep 4 World Boxing Council (WBC) World Champion Briton Tyson Fury said he was ready to fight with compatriot Anthony Joshua in case of Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk’s refusal. Fury intends to fight next in December 2022. Earlier, the Daily Mail reported that the duel between Usyk and Fury was planned to be held in Saudi Arabia the day before the final of the World Cup in Qatar — December 17.
"Usyk will not be ready because he does not want to fight. Even though Joshua has lost three of his last five fights, I still think people want to see this fight. If Usyk is not ready and willing to fight for whatever reason — a middleweight against such a heavyweight giant, then we will make an offer to Joshua", Fury told BT Sport.
Usyk defeated Joshua in August and won his 20th victory in the absence of defeats. The 35-year-old Ukrainian retained the World Boxing Association (WBA Super), World Boxing Organization (WBO), International Boxing Federation (IBF) and International Boxing Organization (IBO) world titles.
