MOSCOW, September 7 The Russian team will play friendly matches against the teams of Kyrgyzstan and Iran , according to the website of the Russian Football Union (RFU). The game against the national team of Kyrgyzstan will be held on September 24 in Bishkek at the Dolon Omurzakov stadium and will be the first face-to-face meeting of rivals in history. The match with Iranian football players is scheduled for November. It is also noted that negotiations are underway to organize the third autumn game.
"The coaching staff of the Russian national team is glad to have the opportunity to gather again and hold a full-fledged training camp. In the near future, we will announce an extended list of players who will be called up to the national team and publish the team’s work schedule", said the head coach of the Russian national team Valery Karpin.
The Kyrgyz national team occupies 95th place in the ranking of the International Football Federation ( FIFA). The Iranian team is in 22nd place. Earlier, FIFA and the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) issued a joint statement according to which Russian teams and clubs were suspended from participation in all international competitions for an indefinite period. In mid-July, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) dismissed appeals against this decision.
