File photoWASHINGTON Sep 20 U.S. President Joe Biden attributed new records of illegal migration to the growing number of people from Venezuela, Cuba and Nicaragua, whom he said it was «irrational» to send back. U.S. border guards previously said that in the last 11 months they have carried out over 2 million detentions at the border with Mexico. «Fewer and fewer immigrants are coming from Central America and Mexico. These are completely different circumstances. What happens during my watch is Venezuela, Cuba and Nicaragua , and the ability to send them (migrants) back to these countries is irrational,» he told reporters. According to CNN, the flow of migrants from these countries increased by 175%, while from Mexico, El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras, it decreased by 43%. Biden said that the United States is negotiating with Mexico and other countries to block illegal migration routes.
