File photoNEW DELHI, Sep 23 BRICS foreign ministers reaffirmed their commitment to the UN General Assembly resolution on combating the glorification of Nazism, according to a statement following a meeting of foreign ministers held on the sidelines of the 77th session of the General Assembly UN.» The ministers recognized the annual resolution of the UN General Assembly «Combating the glorification of Nazism, neo-Nazism and other practices that contribute to inciting modern forms of racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia and related intolerance,» the UN General Assembly said in a statement last December adopted a Russian resolution on combating the glorification of Nazism. The resolution recommends that countries take appropriate specific measures, «including in the legislative field and in the field of education, in accordance with their international human rights obligations, in order to prevent the revision of the results of the Second World War and denial of crimes against humanity and war crimes committed during during World War II». The authors of the document strongly condemn incidents related to the glorification and propaganda of Nazism, in particular, the application of pro-Nazi graffiti and drawings, including on monuments to victims of World War II.
